Striking Amethyst and Diamond Cocktail Ring, circa 1940.
This large oval, four claw set, amethyst measures approximately 12.39 carats. Each shoulder features two baguette cut diamonds in stepped down platinum rub over settings. The diamonds measure approximately .35 carats each side. The raised gallery leads to an unmarked 18ct yellow gold plain band shank. The head of the ring measures approximately 22.5 mm. To the reverse the amethyst and diamonds are set into open backed settings which allows the maximum amount of light to shine through.
This is a stunning statement cocktail ring with a vibrant saturation of colour.
