Very Pretty Sapphire Solitaire Ring, circa 1940
Set in a double 4 claw platinum setting the oval cut mid blue sapphire measures approximately .50 carats. The knife edge shoulders are set with three old cut diamonds in platinum millegrain rub over settings measuring approximately .03 carat each side. The solid raised gallery leads to an 18ct yellow gold plain band shank (marked 18&PT). The head of the ring measures 5mm in width. To the reverse the sapphire and diamonds are set into open backed settings which allows the light to shine through
This ring would be perfect as an engagement ring.
