Classic Emerald Cut Aquamarine Ring, circa 1940.
Featuring a lovely sea blue emerald cut Aquamarine of approximately 1 carat in a four corner claw setting. The decorative raised gallery and knife edge shoulders lead to an 18ct white gold plain band shank, marked 18CT. The aquamarine measures 5.5mm x 8.5mm. To the reverse the ring is set into open back setting which allows the light to shine through.
The seawater colour of Aquamarine has given this gemstone its name, which comes from the latin word for seawater.
