Superb Amethyst and Diamond Cluster Ring, circa 1940
This vintage cluster ring features a large oval amethyst, measuring approximately 7 carats, which is surrounded by sixteen old cut, claw set, diamonds measuring approximately .75 carats in total, H colour and VS/SI clarity. Â The beautiful pierced out gallery leads to hand engraved scrolled shoulders and an 18ct yellow gold plain band shank, marked 18CT. The amethyst measures approximately 10mm x 13mm. To the reverse the amethyst and diamonds are set into open backed settings which allows the maximum amount of light to shine through.
