Vintage 18ct Yellow Gold 4.5 Carat Green Tourmaline and Diamond Ring
Vintage 18ct Yellow Gold 4.5 Carat Green Tourmaline and Diamond Ring
Distinctive Tourmaline and Diamond ring dating from the 1940's.
This exquisite 18 carat yellow gold (marked 18CT) ring features an oval cut tourmaline, measuring approximately 4.5 carats, of the deepest blue/green mounted with four platinum split claw settings to each corner. To either shoulder two old cut diamonds are claw set in platinum in a tooled triangular setting. Total daimond content .30 carat H colour, VS clarity. The shoulders are split, which further enhances the triangular setting of the diamonds, leading to a plain band shank. The ring has a very simple raised gallery, the head measures 11mm in width, and to the reverse the tourmaline is set into an open backed setting which allows the light to shine through.
As tourmaline is a relatively hard stone, this ring would not only make the perfect cocktail/occasion ring but would also be fabulous as a striking and unusual engagement ring.
