Vintage 1940's 18ct Yellow Gold Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Ring
Stunning Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Ring in Yellow Gold, circa 1940.
The 1.4 carat oval cut cornflower blue sapphire is complemented by a halo of eight old brilliant cut diamonds. The total diamond content measures approximately 1.2 carat, H colour and VS/SI clarity. The sapphire and diamonds are all claw set with a platinum pierced out gallery. Knife edge shoulders lead to an 18ct yellow gold plain band shank (marked 18ct). The head of the ring measures 13mm across. To the reverse the sapphire and diamonds are set into open backed settings which allows the light to shine through.
