Vintage Platinum Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Ring

Pretty Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Ring, circa 1940.

A round cut velvet blue sapphire is complemented by an outer cluster of ten old cut diamonds.  The total diamond content measures approximately .50 carat, G colour and VS clarity. The Sapphire measures approximately .50 carat.  The diamonds and sapphire are all claw set with a raised claw gallery, plain shoulders leading to a platinum plain band shank.  The head of the ring measures 11mm in width. To the reverse the sapphire and diamonds are set into open backed settings, which allow the light to shine through.

This would make a fabulous engagement or dress ring or special anniversary present.
